The Planets Suite, which Holst intended as a retrospective on astrology - specifically the long-held belief of the planets' alleged 'psychological effects' on man - has overwhelmingly succeeded in infiltrating pop culture and has all but become synonymous with big-budget blockbuster features concerning outer space.
