My Interests

Thank you for visiting my blog and taking the time to get to know a little bit about me. I am an avid lover of European History and Classical Music History, with an emphasis on classical warfare and general life during the Medieval and Renaissance periods and the various Monarchies of Europe with regards to the former, and Western Classical with regards to the latter. I enjoy reading non-fiction accounts of the above mentioned periods, and thoroughly enjoy Classical Literature of the Western Canon. Luckily for me, my love of these two very different genres often converge in my love of Opera Music, in which many of my favorite authors and their epic works have been immortalized. I am also a lover of language, in particular the romance languages (including Latin), and continue to make strides in my mastering of them - having already successfully submitted (and had published) many original translations of lieder and libretti under my belt (into English from the original German, French, and Latin).

I am proud to announce that this Unraveling Musical Myths - my personal music blog - has recently been recognized and earned praise from radio host and author Lauren Rico of SiriusXM's "Symphony Hall Radio" and WQXR's "Overnight Music," who referred to it as a "Must" see... an "awesomely cool website [for] classical music fans!"  And, more recently, several of my articles have been picked up by, and are featured on Azure Copy, Oliveslate and Brasspad.

I am also proud to announce my association with NetGalley as a “Professional Reader and Reviewer” as of February 2017. NetGalley works in unison with both major and independent publishing houses through a carefully vetted reviewer selection process in the endeavor to assist in the promotion of soon-to-be-released scholarly and general books/reference material authored by both established and up-and-coming writers.
